Lonely Treasure Hunter

Treasure hunter
That’s me
Walking alone on the beach,
Along forest trails,
Past glass store fronts,
Searching for that one thing,
That will make my emptiness go away.

I pick up broken seashells,
Small stones and bits of moss,
Collect clearance rack baubles.
All things I should toss.
I walk slowly along
Seeking a mate
Who will find treasure in me every day.
